REAX: "This stuff is at once mundane and life-affirming. These men are the best at what they do, and their desparation creates a remarkably graceful panic. To quote the great philosopher Rasheed Wallace, both teams played hard, and that absolute effort matched with absolute parity is what makes those seven seconds so fantastic to watch." (Josh Levin, Slate.com)
REAX: "Forget the Spurs' Big Three or the Heat's Big Three, this was about the Nearly Lost Two, a couple of shooters off the scrap heap who found a franchise that not only believed in them, but worked relentlessly to make them believe in themselves." (Dan Wetzel, Yahoo Sports)
James no longer plays with the burden of needing affirmation, jettisoning it when he won it all with the Heat last year. That attitude allowed him to take the calculated Spurs' game plan against him and throw in right back in their face in Game 2 with a trust and confidence reserve that is relatively new to his game. Brian Windhorst(via ESPN.com) , adding: "This is where James is at in his career. He doesn't care anymore about the risk-reward quotient. Had Splitter finished that dunk over James' late contest, he would've surely been mocked for getting shown up by a Brazilian role player hardly known for muscle. He did it anyway because that's what James does these days."
