All of this gets into the realm of hypotheticals, and that’s sort of the point. We have no clue if New York would be a lottery team sans Anthony, and if you are going to posit they would be, you have to marshal at least some evidence. And the evidence we do have indicates they may well have been a solid no. 7 or no. 8 seed without him.

The comeback itself was its own kind of insanity, but what was crazier was sitting at home and rooting for LeBron to pull it off. Imagine that three years ago, when LeBron first came back to Cleveland and the whole world rooted for the Cavs to pull off a miracle. Here, the Cavs were pulling off a miracle, and somehow I was sitting at home rooting for LeBron to wake up, get diabolical, and silence everyone.

For now, little else matters beyond dominating night after night, beyond surrounding himself with great coaches and great teammates. All these foolish distractions about dunking, all these future financial pitfalls of the CBA, and yet James appears relentless in his resolve to keep rising higher and higher.
(via Yahoo Sports) , adding: "Finally, there's James floating through the most rarified of air, suspended above the fray, unwilling to let himself get dragged down into the clown shows. Here, LeBron James is untouchable."
MORE: "If [LeBron] had just one game to submit for his MVP candidacy, it wouldn't be any of his triple-doubles; his 40-point, 16-assist game; or his 39-point, 12-rebound effort in Oklahoma City two weeks ago. It would be what he did to the Knicks on Sunday, shaking off a near miss of injury to muscle his way to another win and now the longest winning streak of his career." (Brian Windhorst, ESPN.com

Less than two months off his 28th birthday, LeBron James might be showing what the prime years of his career could look like. He says he's in the best shape of his life, he's in the midst of the hottest shooting streak and one of the hottest scoring streaks of his life and he's playing with an energy and a mental freedom he's never quite shown before.
(via ESPN.com) , adding: "James' physical gifts appear to be at their peak, elevated when combined with his experience and the intangible benefit of playing without the burden of an empty ring finger. It's leading to some remarkable feats."
