The Nets didn't win the championship of New York on Monday night, but they did earn something that they've never had before: a rightful part of it. Adrian Wojnarowski(via Yahoo Sports) , adding: "The Knicks would leave with a loss and an understanding that they never used to have across the river: Brooklyn is a road game now, the borough and its basketball team a rivalry."
I thought I'd be forced to face this head on, when the Knicks and Nets were to play at Barclays Center Thursday night. I was going to walk over there and watch the game, then walk home, convenient, easy ... but still not where my heart was. Will Leitch(via SportsOnEarth.com) , adding: "I've already had my battle, and I know what side I'm on. Our family breaks our heart, but we always come back. That’s the only thing that makes any of this important; it’s the only thing that makes it matter."
So, Lin's gone. We'll all move on. Maybe this will all seem silly in a year, when both the Knicks and Lin are irrelevant. It's still important to remember how this feels. Reax: Huge coup for Nets, who have dealt with a lot of star rejection the past two years. Billy King's gamble to trade for Williams has paid off. After trading for D-Will to play in an empty arena on a bad team, Billy King and assistant GM Bobby Marks did a superb job of selling him. (Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski)
