*Florida beats FSU: "This mangled one-eared pit bull of a team with vertigo, oil in its fur from sleeping beneath the car and none of its shots is 11-1."
(SBNation's Spencer Hall)

*Florida has wins at A&M, vs. LSU, vs. South Carolina, at FSU. Only loss by 8 to third-ranked team. Often ugly ... but mostly effective. (ESPN.com's Travis Haney)

*Penn State ends with a W: Well, that is sure as hell the weirdest and most compelling 8-4 football season I've ever seen. (Grantland's Michael Weinreb)

*The chaos-lover in me wants ND to lose. As someone who wants to watch the BCSNCG, I can't root for an all-SEC game. What to do?

This was Sandusky bathing them in his narcissism, reminding everyone, and his victims in particular, that when he leans back on that prison bed, no matter how thin the mattress, uncomfortable the conditions or inedible the lunch, no can stop him from reliving it all. He wanted them to know: They'll remain his. Forever. That part of Touchdown Jerry, clad in red, remains safe and secure. Dan Wetzel(via Yahoo Sports) , adding: "The only hope is that it wasn't effective, that it won't stick with those frightened kids who became powerful men, and that the hateful, harmful words of Jerry Sandusky just drifted off into the Bellefonte air, soon to be forgotten like the shrinking pathetic man they took away on Tuesday to die."
This just gets more and more fun. (Grantland's Michael Weinreb)

Poor, poor [Penn State kicker Sam] Ficken. Left 13 pts on the board in 17-16 loss. Of course, O'Brien could have tried for a few more yds to get him closer.
(PresnapRead.com's Paul Myerberg)

Fortunately Sam Ficken is a student at a campus that has rediscovered value of perspective over slavish devotion to football. He'll be fine.
(SportsOnEarth.com's Will Leitch)

Realistically....how many games will Penn State win this season? 2?

The fact is, there wasn't a single moment walking around Happy Valley on Saturday when I wished that the cold hand of NCAA bureaucracy would wipe all this away. Drew Magary(via GQ.com) , who went to Happy Valley for this weekend's season opener, adding: "Something tells me a lot of people here don't want Joe Paterno defined by child molestation because they don't want to be defined by child molestation. This place has essentially been branded the Child Rape Capital of America. Would you be happy if it were your hometown? Isn't having Mike McGloin as your QB punishment enough?"
*Penn State loses. I think we'll say that a lot the next few years.
(ProFootballTalk's Michael David Smith)

*Meanwhile, PSU is at Virginia next week. Big challenge for O'Brien to avoid 0-2. (SI.com's Stewart Mandel)

*Seriously, congrats, Ohio. Downhill to 12-0. Just don't trip.
(SI.com's Holly Anderson)
